Firstly, thanks for taking time to visit Gulfstream Images.
I hope you enjoy the site.
Growing up only twelve miles from London's Heathrow airport and having a father that worked for British Airways, my interest in aviation began at an early age. Many hours were spent in our back garden collecting registrations for my Civil Aircraft Markings book my pocket money had bought me. I also have my Dad to thank for my interest, we would always attend the main airshows across the country and visit airports whilst on family holidays.
With my interest growing the only place i wanted to work was in the aviation industry. On leaving school i joined the British Airports Authority as Electrical Engineering Apprentice at London Heathrow. After thirteen years at Heathrow i transferred up to London Stansted and joined the Airfield Lighting section, maintaining all the lighting services within the airfield.
My main interest is now on the photography side of the hobby, i received my first camera in my early teens but my panning was something to be desired though!. After starting work and with a steady wage coming in i moved on to Canon SLR's, a brand i have stuck with since. In 2004 i made the move over to digital purchasing a Canon 300D along with a Sigma 70-200 f2.8 lens, this was fine for photographing airliners but for fast jets was a little slow, so in 2006 i purchased a Canon 30D and Canon 100-400 lens.
I have been fortunate enough to have traveled all over the world in pursuit of my hobby, and have met many good friends along the way. On the odd occasion i have sent shots to aircraft magazines and have been lucky enough to have had a few published, i also had a request to use a couple of shots for an article on Ecuatoriana Airlines on the Wiki-Pedia encyclopedia website.
