This was my first visit to Thailand, we were in Bangkok for three days before moving on to one of the beautiful islands in the Andaman sea. Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport opened on 15th September 2006 but has since been plagued with problems with construction and subsidence, it was thought that the old Don Mueang airport would be re-opened whilst repairs were made. It was decided to re-open Don Mueang regardless, and not long after my visit around 70 domestic flight moved over.
I spent around three hours photographing arrivals, the journey from the city is around 25km and only cost me 6 pounds return!! Traffic is pretty constant with a good mixture of very colourful aircraft indeed, i was also pleased to catch Thai Airways aircraft in both the old and new schemes. I had no problems with security or the police.
I'd like to thank my good friend Tony Green for his assistance with the translation, thanks mate.
